Darley is a thriving village with many community facilities, including 2 churches, a community centre, 2 village halls and playing fields, and a village shop, café and post office. Darley Community Primary School caters for the children in the village, and a Pre-School also operates from there.

It also has a large number of groups, societies and clubs who organise both regular and one-off events. These include Darley in Bloom, Darley Heritage Group, Cubs,Scouts & Brownies, Darley Pre-School, Darley Debs WI.

On occasion, the community will also be involved in projects as a way of bringing new facilities or features to the parish. Recent examples are the Darley Community Broadband Scheme and Darley Community Library which operates out of Christ Church Community Centre for several hours each week.
